DR. JODI MAGNESS  - Masada: Last Stronghold of the Jewish Resistance Against Rome
Dr. Magness is an archaeologist, orientalist and scholar of religion. She serves as the Kenan Distinguished Professor for Teaching Excellence in Early Judaism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill  In this slide-illustrated lecture, she will survey the history and archaeology of Masada, including the results of excavations in the Roman siege works which Professor Jodi Magness co-directed in 1995.

Dr. Irving Berkowitz is the Emeritus Dean of Academic Affairs at Palm Beach State College and a Distinguished Fellow and former Scholar-in-Residence of two renowned institutions: The International School of Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem and the Institute for the Study of Global Anti-Semitism and Policy at Oxford University. Dr. Berkowitz  will discuss Jewish achievers and achievements in the realms of business, arts and entertainment, publishing, philanthropy, fashion, science, government, law, politics, technology, retail, banking and finance. human history.
